Welcome to Slay or Nay, an AI-powered outfit rating application developed by Centaur Studios. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

By using Slay or Nay, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the application.

Short version: We take your privacy seriously. Photos you upload are processed by AI to generate outfit feedback and are not stored on our servers. We do not sell your data.

We collect only what is necessary to provide the Slay or Nay experience:

Photos you upload: Images selected from your photo library for outfit analysis. These are transmitted to our AI provider for processing and are not permanently stored by us.
App preferences: Your selected spiciness level and language preference, stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage.
Roast history: A local record of your past roast results (up to 10 entries), stored only on your device. We do not have access to this data.
Usage data: Anonymous crash reports and performance data to improve app stability (if analytics are enabled).

We do not collect:

Your name, email address, or personal identification (unless you contact support)
Location data
Device contacts or calendars
Payment information (handled entirely by Apple)

AI & Photo Processing

Slay or Nay uses Google Gemini, a third-party artificial intelligence service provided by Google LLC, to analyze outfit photos and generate feedback.

Important: When you upload a photo, it is transmitted to Google Gemini's API for processing. This transmission is subject to Google's own privacy practices and data policies.

Key facts about AI photo processing:

Photos are sent to Google Gemini solely for the purpose of generating outfit feedback.
We do not store, retain, or archive photos on our own servers after processing is complete.
AI-generated responses are based solely on visible clothing and styling — not personal identification.
Google Gemini API may retain data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.

We encourage you to review Google's privacy policy to understand how your data may be handled during AI processing.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide outfit analysis and AI-generated roast feedback
Save your preferences (spiciness level, language) for a personalized experience
Maintain your local roast history for your reference
Improve app performance and fix technical issues
Respond to support inquiries when you contact us

We do not use your information for:

Advertising or targeted marketing
Selling or renting your data to third parties
Building personal profiles or behavioural tracking
Any purpose unrelated to providing the Slay or Nay service

Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

Google Gemini (AI Processing): Photos are transmitted to Google's Gemini API for outfit analysis. See Section 3 above.
Apple (Payments): If you subscribe to Slay or Nay Premium, payment processing is handled entirely by Apple via in-app purchases. We do not receive or store your payment details.
Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid legal process.

We never sell your data. Centaur Studios does not participate in data brokerage or advertising networks.

Data Storage & Security

Your roast history and preferences are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. This data:

Never leaves your device (except photos sent for AI processing)
Is deleted when you clear your history in Settings
Is removed when you uninstall the application

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect any data transmitted to and from our services. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

As we introduce account features (Apple Sign-In) in future versions, this policy will be updated to reflect cloud storage practices.

07 — Children's Privacy

Slay or Nay is rated 12+ on the Apple App Store. Our application is not directed at children under the age of 12.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 12. If you believe a child under 12 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at support@centaurstudios.online and we will take steps to remove such information.

08 — Your Rights

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data:

Right to access: You can view all locally stored data directly within the app (roast history).
Right to deletion: You can clear your roast history at any time via Settings → Clear Roast History. When account features are introduced, a full data deletion option will be available.
Right to opt-out: You can stop using the app at any time. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.
GDPR (EU users): If you are located in the European Union, you have additional rights under GDPR. Contact us to exercise these rights.
CCPA (California users): California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act. We do not sell personal information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.

Continued use of Slay or Nay after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
