Auraly — Privacy Policy

Centaur Studios ("we," "us," or "our") operates Auraly, a mobile application designed to help couples strengthen their relationship. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information when you use Auraly.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

Account Information: Email address, display name, password — used for account creation and authentication.
Profile Information: Profile photo, relationship status, relationship start date — used for personalizing your experience.
Couple Data: Shared dreams, love notes, goals, wish lists, mood entries, daily question answers, important dates, home design items — used for providing core app functionality shared between you and your partner.
Memory Photos: Photos you upload, captions, dates, location names (text only, manually entered) — used for the Memory Wall feature for preserving shared memories.
Pairing Code: Unique 6-character code — used for connecting you with your partner within the app.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

Authentication Tokens: Firebase Authentication session data — used for keeping you signed in securely.
App Preferences: Language selection (English/Turkish), theme/background choice — persisted locally on your device.

1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

Precise device location: We do not access your GPS or device location services. Location names in Memories are entered manually as free text by you.
Contacts or address book: We never access your contacts.
Analytics or behavioral tracking: We do not use any analytics SDKs, advertising trackers, or behavioral profiling tools.
Device identifiers (IDFA/GAID): We do not collect advertising identifiers.
Health, financial, or biometric data.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely to:

Provide the Service: Create and manage your account, connect you with your partner, and enable all couple features (dreams, notes, goals, wishes, moods, memories, dates, questions, and home design).
Personalize Your Experience: Display your chosen name, avatar, relationship details, and app theme preferences.
Store and Sync Data: Synchronize your couple data in real-time so both you and your partner can see shared content instantly.
Improve the App: Diagnose technical issues and improve app stability (using crash logs, not behavioral data).

We do NOT use your data for: advertising, profiling, selling to third parties, or any purpose unrelated to providing the Auraly service.

3. How We Share Your Information

3.1 With Your Partner

When you pair with another user, certain data is shared within your couple space. This includes: shared dreams, notes, goals, wish lists, moods, daily question answers, important dates, memory photos, and home design items. Only you and your paired partner can see this shared content.

3.2 With Service Providers

We use the following third-party service solely to operate the app:

Google Firebase: Authentication, Cloud Firestore (database), Cloud Storage (photos). Data processed includes account data, couple data, and uploaded photos. See Firebase Privacy Policy.

3.3 We Do NOT Share Data With:

Advertisers or ad networks
Data brokers
Social media platforms
Any other third parties for their own purposes

3.4 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

4. Data Storage and Security

4.1 Where Your Data Is Stored

Cloud: Your account and couple data is stored securely in Google Firebase servers. Firebase data centers are located in the United States and comply with SOC 1, SOC 2, and ISO 27001 certifications.
On-Device: Authentication session tokens and app preferences (theme, language) are stored locally using AsyncStorage on your device. This data never leaves your device.

4.2 Security Measures

All data in transit is encrypted using TLS/SSL.
All data at rest in Firebase is encrypted.
Firebase Authentication handles password hashing; we never store passwords in plaintext.
Firestore security rules ensure that couple data is accessible only to the two paired users.
Photo uploads are stored in isolated storage paths accessible only to the couple.

5. Data Retention

Active accounts: We retain your data for as long as your account is active.
Account deletion: When you delete your account, we will permanently delete your personal data from our servers within 30 days. Shared couple data (dreams, notes, etc.) may remain accessible to your partner until they also delete their account or the couple space is dissolved.
Photos: Uploaded memory photos are deleted from Firebase Storage when the memory is deleted or when the account is deleted.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:

Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten"). You can initiate this through the app's Settings screen or by contacting us.
Portability: Request your data in a portable format.
Withdrawal of Consent: Withdraw previously given consent at any time.
Restriction: Request restriction of processing of your data.

7. Device Permissions

Auraly may request the following device permissions. All permissions are optional and requested only when needed:

Camera: When you choose to take a profile photo or memory photo — to capture photos directly within the app.
Photo Library: When you choose to select a profile photo or memory photo from your gallery — to access your existing photos for upload.

You can revoke these permissions at any time through your device's Settings. The app will continue to function with limited features if permissions are denied.

8. Children's Privacy

Auraly is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. 9. International Data Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States through our use of Google Firebase. By using Auraly, you consent to the transfer of your data to the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:

Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
Notify you through an in-app notice or other appropriate means.

Your continued use of Auraly after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
